f-star raises € 8m in an Extended Series A Financing co-led by MP Health-care Venture Management and Merck Serono Venturesf-star, an antibody engineering company
developing novel antibodies and antibody fragments based on its unique Modular
Antibody Technology, announced today the closing of an EUR 8 Million Extended
Series A financing. The investment round was co-led by MP Healthcare Venture
Management (MPH) and Merck Serono Ventures. f-star's existing investors
comprising Atlas Venture, Aescap Venture, Novo Ventures and TVM Capital also
participated in this round. Kevin FitzGerald joins f-star as new CEO starting from May 1st, 2009Kevin FitzGerald, founder and CEO of Isogenica, joins f-star on May 1st as CEO and managing director. Gottfried Himmler, founding CEO of f-star, will assume the role of CSO and will be responsible for research and IP.

f-star, an antibody engineering company developing novel antibodies and antibody fragments based on its unique Modular Antibody Technology, announced today that it has established a Scientific Advisory Board and has appointed three outstanding scientists and pioneers in the field of antibody engineering and development to form the nucleus of this advisory body. Members of f-star's Scientific Advisory Board include Professor Sir Ravinder Maini, Professor Anthony Rees and Professor Sir Gregory Winter.
F-Star Raises EUR 3.0 million in a Second Closing of its Series A Financing Round from Novo A/Sf-star, an antibody engineering company developing novel antibodies and antibody fragments based on its unique Modular Antibody Technology, today announced that it has raised EUR 3.0 million from Novo A/S in a Second Closing of its Series A financing round, originally co-led by Aescap Venture and Atlas Venture. After this Second Closing, the amount raised in the Series A round increases to EUR 9.0 million. In total, the Company has raised EUR 13.0 million since inception in 2006. Including loans and grants from Austrian government agencies, the company has raised EUR 10.0m so far. EUR 1.5m seed financing from Atlas Venture f-star, a biopharmaceutical company founded in 2006 to develop and exploit an innovative antibody engineering technology, today announced that it raised EUR1.5 million in seed financing from Atlas Venture, a leading early-stage international venture capital firm. Prior to the most recent investment of EUR1.5 million by Atlas Venture, f-star has secured pre-seed and seed financing in excess of EUR1.1 million, including loans and grants from AWS, FFG and inits, Austrian agencies for the promotion of research, technology and innovation. f-star starts its operationsf-star starts its operations with an industry experienced management team. The company is optimizing its "modular antibody" technology and preparing for its own therapeutics product pipeline. f-star has signed a contract with the University of Applied Life Sciences that allows the company to use laboratory space and infrastructure at the University until f-star has established its own, independent facilities.
