Gottfried Himmler
Chief Executive Officer
Managing Director

Gottfried Himmler was previously Chief Scientific Officer at igeneon. Before that he has started-up and managed CODON genetic systems, an Austrian biotech company. He has 20 years experience with engineering and production of monoclonal and recombinant antibodies, originally leading a research group at the Institute of Applied Microbiology in Vienna. He received his doctorate from the University of Applied Life Sciences in Vienna, Austria.

Geert C. Mudde
Chief Scientific Officer

Geert C. Mudde is one of the founders of f-star. Geert joined f-star as CSO in September 2007. His previous positions include Director of Discovery Research and Technical Assessment at Baxter BioScience, VP Research at igeneon AG, Director Immunology at Ingenium Pharmaceuticals and Director of Allergy&Inflammation/Immunology at Parke Davis in Paris. Before that he worked at Sandoz/Novartis and at the Swiss Institute for Allergy Research. Dr. Mudde received his PhD in immunology from the University Utrecht (NL).

Gerda Redl
Permanent Consultant IP

Gerda Redl is working for f-star as consultant for Intellectual Property and Business Development. She has a profound history of technology management and deal making from her former appointments at Aphton and igeneon where she spent four years as Business Manager responsible for Business Development and Intellectual Property. She worked as Chief Business Officer for f-star until 2008 when she started up her own business (REDL Life Science Patent Attorneys). Prior appointments include three years as business manager at Octapharma and ten years at Baxter Healthcare and Immuno where she head the IP-group. Gerda is a Patent and Trademark Attorney and holds a doctorate degree in life sciences, Biochemistry, from the Vienna University of Technology, Austria.

Eugen Stermetz
Chief Financial Officer
Managing Director

Eugen Stermetz helped secure f-star's seed financing round in 2006 and joined the company as CFO and Managing Director in 2007. Eugen previously served as CFO of Fibrex Medical Inc. and CFO of igeneon AG after working as a management consultant with The Boston Consulting Group in Munich and Vienna. He graduated from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland with a lic.oec. HSG degree and holds a doctorate in business administration from the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration.
