f-star is a privately owned company and has raised EUR 13m in venture capital and public funding to date. The start-up was financed by the founders Gottfried Himmler, Geert Mudde, Florian Rüker and Gordana Wozniak-Knopp and was supported by Austria Wirtschaftsservice AWS and inits. In late 2006, Atlas Venture provided EUR 1.5m as a Seed Financing. In 2007, the company closed a Series A financing round with Aescap Venture, Atlas Venture and Novo A/S in the total amount of EUR 9.0m. In 2008, TVM Capital acquired New Century Pharmaceuticals’ stake in the company and joined f-star’s investor syndicate. The company receives ongoing support from the Austrian Research Promotion Agency FFG as well as Austria Wirtschaftsservice AWS.
